In short
The Thorn Crown (German: Dornwacht) needs no account, shows no ads and does not track you. Your progress stays on your device; in the iPhone and iPad app it can also travel through your own iCloud, and achievements go to Game Center if you use it. We only receive anonymous play statistics if you agreed at the first start or in the settings.

Progress and settings
Progress, relics, records and settings are stored on your device (browser storage or app storage). We never receive them. In the iPhone and iPad app a second copy is kept in the app's own storage on the device, so that progress survives if iOS clears the web view's storage. You delete the local data by clearing the website data or removing the app. For the iCloud copy see the next section.
iCloud (iPhone and iPad app)
If you are signed in to iCloud, the app saves the progress you have earned (stars, trial and endless records, relics, tips already seen) to the iCloud key-value storage of your Apple account, so that another device of yours can continue where you stopped. Settings, language and a chapter in progress are not synced. This data is held by Apple under your account; we cannot see, change or delete it. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Game Center (iPhone and iPad app)
If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports achievements and leaderboard scores (for example chapters won, trials cleared, best endless wave) to Apple's Game Center. Your Game Center name and profile are handled by Apple; we do not receive them. Apple's privacy policy applies. You can sign out of Game Center in your device settings.
Anonymous play statistics (only with your consent)
If you agree, the game sends short messages to our own server, for example: game opened, chapter started, won or lost, wave and hero level reached, play time per session, number of towers built, skipped scenes, changed settings, difficulty, chosen hero, language, web or app, game version and the country of the connection (only the two-letter code that our server provider Cloudflare passes on; we do not store the IP address). It also sends a random ID created on your device, so we can see whether players come back. We do not store any name, e-mail address, IP address or advertising ID. Purpose: finding out which chapters are too hard and whether people enjoy the game.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time in the game settings (question mark icon); nothing is sent afterwards and the ID on your device is deleted. We delete the statistics automatically after 24 months. After you withdraw, the ID on your device is gone, so statistics sent earlier can no longer be linked to your device.
Hosting
The game and the statistics endpoint run on Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open the game, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data such as your IP address to deliver it and protect it from attacks. We do not store this data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure, fast delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
In-app purchases
If you unlock Act II in the app, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We receive no payment or account data, only the information that the purchase is valid. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. As we store no names, we usually cannot link statistics to a person. Feel free to write to support@hundeo.com anyway.
Children
The Thorn Crown does not collect personal data from children. The statistics are anonymous and voluntary.
